Claire Sullivan-Tailyour - Production Designer

Claire Sullivan-Tailyour is passionate about finding beauty and humor in the darker side of life, which manifests itself in the stories she chooses to tell, whether it be as a production designer, director or producer.

Born in South Africa, but grew up in England, Claire continued to move from place to place. She recieved a BA (1st Class Joint Honors) in English Literature and Media Studies from Sussex University, Brighton with a scholarship year at the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television. She went on to recieve an MFA in Film Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Los Angeles.

During her time at USC, she was chosen by the Academy Award winning faculty to direct a film funded by the school. Silence played at numerous international film festivals. Amongst hundreds applying for a Heineken sponsored music video for Low Stars' Just Around the Corner, Claire's team won the pitch and she directed the music video (budget $40,000). The video premiered at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills in December '07, continuing to Sundance Film Festival and Tribeca's Green Room. Claire is represented by House of Waterman for music videos.

Claire recently directed Impressions for the Los Angeles Film Collective's feature. Impressions was broadcast in the US on WNET and the Busan International Film Festival. Throughout her career Claire has also been enthusiastic about directing theatre, which included True Blue presented by The Vesper Theater Company, Los Angeles.

Claire currently works for the BBC and is in development on her first UK feature.
